I am a book publicist with a teenage son who, like his mother, enjoys both reading books and writing. When Justin was 14, I helped him self-publish his first book. "Saving Stripes: A Kitty's Story" is the true story of a cat family rescue told from the point of view of the kitten our family ended up adopting. Nearly 400 copies of the book have been sold with 100% of the proceeds going to animal rescue.
About a year after the book came out, Justin came up with the idea of starting his own publishing company exclusively for teenagers. Sigma's Bookshelf now has 12 books written by teens on the market, including Justin's debut novel, "Nothing But Trouble."
We are hoping to be able to team up with you to offer students at your school the opportunity to get their books published as well. It is very empowering for an author of any age to hold a book they have written in their hands. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the service is 100% free for young writers between the ages of 13 - 19.
Once published, books are available for purchase online and at bookstores, including Barnes and Noble.
