Simons is a writer and a teacher. Her publications include over 30 nonfiction children's books, four middle grade novels, and the adult history book FARIBAULT WOOLEN MILL: LOOMED IN THE LAND OF LAKES. Accolades include an Honorable Mention for the McKnight Artist Fellowship and a Minnesota State Arts Board grant. Originally from Colorado, she's lived in México, Italy, and Japan. She's a mom to boy/girl twins and is a wife to a guy who also loves to read.
